BringMeThat recently expanded to North Carolina, but Ohio is where we started, and now we’re pleased to offer online food delivery from more than 1,400 restaurants in the state. We’ve been keeping up with the food scene in Ohio and present you this list of new restaurants opening in the Columbus area.
Tree Spirit Coffee | Coffee / Tea / Breakfast
Intersection of Woodruff Ave. and Tuller St.
Tree Spirit Coffee has relocated to the Ohio State campus. Started by Alison Ortega, a former Buckeye, Tree Spirit brings a high-end approach to its food service — even though it’s a beverage truck. “Six baristas work at Tree Spirit, all of whom had to undergo about three months of training at Ortega’s home before the shop opened. Each barista came in at least twice a week, working four-to-six hour shifts to exercise their skills in pulling espresso shots and texturing milk.”
The Pint House Beer Garden | Beer / Wine / Spirits / Bar Food
780 North High St., Columbus, OH 43201
The Pint House Beer Garden is the newest bar in The Short North. It features a full bar with a vast beer selection, a full kitchen serving pub food and Sunday brunch service. “I think the key feature is that it’s a real indoor/outdoor beer garden courtyard,” says co-owner Mike Gallicchio. “It should remind you of an old-world European beer hall.”
The Crest Gastropub | Beer / Cocktails / Pub Food
2855 Indianola Ave., Columbus, OH 43202
The Crest will boast a selection of 60 craft beers and 40 cocktails, overseen by bona fide mixologist Annie Williams. A menu of wood-fired pizza, locally-sourced vegetables (most from a rooftop garden) and entrees like mac & cheese and meatloaf will put the gastro in gastropub. Read more here.
Chez du Bon | Market / French bistro / Beer & Wine
Downtown Columbus, adjacent to Columbus Commons
Opening this October in downtown Columbus, Chez du Bon (“House of Good”) will be a full-scale market with a sit-down French restaurant. “The 5,000 square foot market place will feature fresh produce, baked goods, grab-and-go food, cheeses, flowers, beer, wine and more under tall 20-foot ceilings. During the evening hours, the space will boast a 40-seat French Bistro restaurant,” according to the Columbus Underground. Chez du Bon was created by local food entrepreneur, Yavonne Sarber.
Sichuan Hotpot | Szechuan / Asian
1644 North High St, Columbus, OH 43201
Specializing in big soups (“hotpots”), Sichuan is a new Asian restaurant located on the Ohio State campus in a modest space (read: hole-in-the-wall). But don’t expect a traditional American-Chinese joint. “No General Tso’s, no orange chicken, just steamy, brothy noodle stew served with this disclaimer; ‘please be aware all hotpots are hot and spicy and may cause discomfort in some individuals,’” says local source, alt.eats.columbus.
